Africa-Europe Diaspora Development Platform [ADEPT] is a Europe wide network of the African Diaspora Development Organisations based in 28 EU countries, Norway and Switzerland that are engaged in development actions in Africa.
Our aim is to improve and enhance the capacity and impact of the African diaspora organisations that are involved in development activities in Africa.
Created in 2010 by a consortium of five diaspora orgnisations, we cherished a vision of a united, strong and professional African diaspora engaged in sustainable development actions beyond borders and countries.
We serve as a point of reference for those interested in migration, diaspora and development in Africa and we work with:
Diaspora organisations and individuals
Governments and policymakers
Development and international agencies
Civil society organisations and academia
The creation of ADEPT was part of an ongoing process originally inspired by the decisions of African and EU leaders to formally involve African diaspora groups in development processes in Africa, as reflected in the Joint Africa-EU Strategic Partnership [Lisbon, December 2007], the Declaration of the Ministerial Conference on Migration and Development [Tripoli, November 2006] and the Declaration of the Euro-African Ministerial Conference on Migration and Development [Rabat, July 2006].
Today, our network counts:
